Breaking: Reverend King To Die By Hanging As Supreme Court Upholds His Death Sentence

The Supreme Court has okayed the convicted General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King to die by hanging.

In a unanimous judgment Friday afternoon, a seven-man panel of Justices ‎of the apex court led by Justice Walter Onnoghen, upheld the death sentence that was earlier handed to Ezeugo by the Lagos State High Court. Consequently, the court in its lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, dismissed the appeal the convicted clergy lodged before it.

Justice Ngwuta who noted that “the ‎facts of the case could have been lifted from horror film”, resolved all the 12 issues Ezeugo raised in his appeal.” “This appeal has no merit. The judgement of the court of appeal is hereby affirmed. The prison sentence that was earlier handed to the appellant is no longer relevant in view of the death sentence passed on him”, Justice Ngwuta held. It will be recalled that Ezeugo was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging on January 11, 2007, for the alleged murder of his church member, Ann Uzoh. He was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.

BREAKING! Sunday Oliseh Resigns As Super Eagles Coach

The former national team captain cited unpaid salaries, lack of cooperation, among other factors as reasons for his decision to quit.
The former Nigeria captain and his employers have been at loggerheads for weeks following the home-based Super Eagles’ early ouster from the African Nations Championship in January.
Oliseh did not take kindly to the criticism that trailed the CHAN outing and shot back via a YouTube video in which he exposed the NFF’s shoddy treatment of himself and his players, who were owed camp allowances and win bonuses and were left unmotivated throughout the tournament.
The former Juventus midfielder leaves the Eagles in the middle of key Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with back-to-back games against Egypt coming up in a month’s time.
Oliseh was appointed in July 2015 as successor to Stephen Keshi. Oliseh was in charge of 14 official matches, losing one friendly against DR Congo in Belgium and a CHAN group match against Guinea that led to ealy elimination in Rwanda.

Freeze Slams Onyeka Onwenu – ‘Sit At Home And Face Your Issue, Stop Creating Unnecessary Tension’

Onyeka and Freeze
Cool FM On-Air personality, Freeze, who is known for being very candid with his opinions has addressed a press release by Onyeka Onwenu after her removal as the DG of National Centre for Women Development.
The aggrieved singer and actress highlighted the fact that she was sacked because she’s Igbo. This didn’t go down well with Freeze and he had to respond.
According to Freeze,
‘Dear Madam, you were not sacked because you are Igbo, stop creating unnecessary tension in an already volatile situation you are not helping matters. If Nigeria goes to war, poor, innocent and helpless people would suffer’.
Syria has a population of 25 million people, far less than LAGOS state alone yet the world can’t handle its refuge crisis. I shudder to imagine our own. Lose(sic)  statements like ‘Buhari sacked me because I am Igbo’ would only serve to fuel more hatred and animosity. Sit at home and face your issue without dragging an innocent nation into your personal battle. How long did you really expect to eat under 2 different regimes and what really did you have to offer? – just a thought. Sorry about the typos guys I’m really not happy about this’.

Fayose advises Buhari to focus on economy instead of trips

– President Buhari lacks solutions to Nigeria’s dwindling economy

– Fayose called on Buhari to stop junketing and start focusing on Nigeria’s problems

– He claimed that everything worsened sice Buhari assumed the office of the president

Ayo Fayose, the governor of the Ekiti state, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to focus more on the dwindling economy, saying that Nigerians are suffering.

The governor through his spokesman, Lere Olayinka, has raised alarm over the impending collapse of the county’s economy, adding that the Buhari’s government was yet to show any sign that it has any solution to the decrease of economy.

He asked Nigerians to pressure on the president to stay at home and rule Nigeria.

Fayose said: “Travelling from one country to another won’t solve any of our problems because I have not seen where foreigners assist any nation to develop. “The President should know that Nigerians are suffering and they do not need their President to junket around the world, to alleviate their sufferings. “It is worrisome that President Buhari does not have any economic team and there is no policy direction yet, despite spending close to nine months in office.” “The implication of the President’s obvious lack of the required mental capacity to tackle the nation’s economic problems and the resultant effects are human right abuses, prices of goods and services skyrocketing, daily retrenchment of workers, folding up of businesses, States finding it difficult to pay workers salary and the Federal Government not being able to prepare common budget,” he further added. The governor defined what is being experienced by Nigerians as the sum total of President Buhari’s mental capacity, saying that “With President Buhari, Nigeria is definitely having a square peg in its round hole. “Dollar has gone double since Dr Goodluck Jonathan left office, with US Dollar exchanging for N350 as at today, Foreign Reserve is declining on daily basis, Boko Haram insurgents have come back even stronger than they were when Buhari assumed office and Nigerians are now being made to pay more for electricity that is not available for them to use.

Corruption: Nigeria’s Most Wanted Suspect Lives In UK – Buhari

Buhari-swagg10President Muhammadu Buhari who is on vacation in the United Kingdom (UK) has said that one of the biggest corruption suspects wanted by his government, resides in the UK.
In an interview published by the UK Telegraph on Monday, Mr. Buhari did not revealthe identity of the suspect.
“One of the biggest suspects is in Britain now, although I am not going to name that person. But Britain has earned our respect in the way it deals with these matters. Our only problem is that it seems to be too thorough and it takes too much time. If there are obvious cases, like bank accounts, infrastructure houses and hotels, I would hope they could do it quicker, so that we can claim these things back promptly.”
Attention of observers may however be focused on former oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke or oil businessman Kola Aluko. The latter has been linked with several oil deals, in which Nigeria emerged short-changed. Madueke on her part is already under investigation by UK Fraud office, over suspicious money laundering.
President Buhari was also asked by his interviewer, Colin Freeman, the chief foreign correspondentof the newspaper about Nigerians coming to Britain to seek political asylum.
“Some Nigerians claim is that life is too difficult back home, but then again some Nigerians have also made it difficult for Europeans and Americans to accept them because of the number of Nigerians in different prisons all over the world accused of drug trafficking or human trafficking. I don’t think Nigerians have anybody to blame. They can remain at home. Their services are required to rebuild the country. If their countrymen misbehaved, the best thing for them is to stay at home and encourage the credibility of the nation,” Buhari replied.
He also said his government has been trying to deal with Nigeria’s image abroad.
“But we are on our way to salvage that. We will encourage our countrymen to stay at home, work hard and make a respectable living at home.”
